The Snagov estate comprises the monastery – presumed burial place of Vlad the Impaler and the Snagov club.
The Snagov Park is a 7 hectar area of tennis courts, outdoor pools, restaurants and lake beach – the perfect getaway from te hustle and bustle of Bucharest. It gives the opportunity for a leisurely boat ride on Snagov Lake combined with a bit of history at the Monastery on the island in the middle of the lake.
The presumed burial place of Vlad Tepes, is a beautiful late 14th century church placed on an island with a lot of beautiful old paintings inside. As a bonus, in front of the altar there is a grave with the image of Vlad and a candle. In the 1930’s archaeologists discovered a headless body with royal clothes presuming that it is the body of Vlad Tepes. But no DNA tests have been done to prove it so far. So it’s still a mistery!
